Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Poor quality control. Expected quieter motor.

Uhoh429 12/18/2020

I'm a remodeling contractor, and was disappointed with this unit. First of all, the air flow direction was mislableled on the housing, so my electrician and I lost several hours after installing the motor and relalizing it blew air through the downdraft, instead of exhausting it. We had to disassemble all the ducting and wiring, reverse the motor, and reinstall it so it would exhaust properly. I imagine this is a simple quality control error, as the sticker on the housing must have been put on backwards. Should't happen. The other gripe I have with this motor is that even though I installed it with rubber mounts on unistrut, and the ductwork was interrupted with flex duct, it still creates so much vibration that you feel it in the floor below. For the price, I expected the flow direction to be indicated properly, but most importantly, I expected a much smoother, quiter, vibration free motor. If you manually spin the fan you can see that it is wobbly out of the box.
