Problems with my Maytag

Purchased the matching Maytag appliances in March 2015. Initially happy with my new appliances, but have had two problems with the range. . 1. I bake and realized that the recipe timing never seemed to be quite right, and ended up extending the bake time on a regular basis. I didn't realize that the oven wasn't heating properly until after the one-year warranty was up. . Last fall just before Thanksgiving while baking, my cookies were burnt in about 4 minutes; I noted the temperature seemed to be much higher than 350. I turned the oven off and let it cool down and tried again -- once again, it became extremely hot. I bought an oven thermometer and it registered 500+ instead of 350. . Customer service told me to completely power off and back on, including pulling the plug and turning off the breaker. When powered back on, this did get the temperature back down, but there is something wrong with the controls. The preheat is very slow and the oven thermometer registers about 50 degrees below the requested temperature - even when the oven alerts that the preheating is complete. I now set the oven to 25 to 40 degrees higher than I actually need. . 2. There are open slots in the oven door just behind the door handle. A lot of heat appears to escape through the slots. Additionally, it looks like something dripped in between the glass panels and needs to be cleaned. I haven't seen this setup on another range and an unable to clean the glass. Part of the reason I chose this range was the high rating on this site and the aqua clean function (which I do like). This was not an inexpensive range and I expected more from a Maytag. Although the range has a 10-year limited warranty, the heating issue was not covered and would only have been covered under the original one-year warranty. I am really disappointed in this appliance.

After 5 weeks of ownership, service call had to be scheduled. Of 4 new Maytag appliances owned for 5 wks, this is one of two which are already not working properly.

Great Stove with Problems

1/10/2017

Purchased the stove 1 year ago. After about 6 months the Power Burner started acting different. It takes a VERY Long time to heat the pot or pan on High setting. If the burner is turned down lower than the highest setting it goes into a cycle of on instant off, off for about 20-30 seconds then on instant off. If the burner is turned down to Medium it will go off completly. Purchased a 5 year service policy from the retail store. Tey have sent an Appliance repair tech out who then ordered and replace the burner element, the control switch and the mainboard. Still does the same thing but with an added problem, the Cooktop on indicator light does not work now for that burner. The Service Provider and the Appliance Repair are not returning my calls.

I purchased a whole kitchen suite last May and so far have had to have the microwave repaired and now the refrigerator. I hate the stove. I wonder what the point of the Auqua clean feature billed "self-cleaning"?? It had to be invented by a man as no women wants that much work to clean an oven. This is like the old days before the real self-cleaning ovens came on the market. You just set it to clean and wipe out the ash. As soon as I get money ahead this is going out and I will get a real self-cleaning

Not very happy

I seem to be out of step with most reviewers, but I am not happy with this range. The main problem is that the elements for the burners cycle on and off very frequently. There is no low heat, simply on and off heat. Pots cool a little simply to be heated again. To effectively use a medium-sized pan, there is only one burner--the triple one set on the medium size. The pan CAN be used on a small burner, but that is inefficient. I couldn't find in the "manual" any clear explanation of the power element. It is so large that only a very large pot or pan should be used. General instructions state that one can use a pan a little larger but not smaller than the burner.I would never buy another Maytag range.

poor Quality oven

I purchased a new oven from Maytag and the oven would not heat properly out of the box. Poor customer service. Eventually a repair person came to look at it but didn't fix the problem. A month or more has passed and I am still waiting.I will never buy a Maytag productagain!

Maytag Convection oven

We bought this when we bought our house in March. I have never had a convection oven before and this one is so easy to use. It is very easy to clean the oven as well. The only thing I would say as a critique is I struggle to find a Quality product to clean the top as it leaves marks easily on the stove top. Overall, I don't know I would buy any other product except Maytag like this one.

This stove is wonderful! The power element is great. I use it every morning to boil water for my coffee. The convection oven is wonderful. I like to bake and I can put more than one thing in at a time. You can't go wrong with Maytag.

Great Purchase

My husband and I had spent a while trying to figure out what we wanted. We ultimately went with the Maytag and couldn't be happier. The time it takes to boil water has been cut in half; the oven is so big that I'm looking forward to cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in it. The multi-size burner is one of my favorites as it fits some of the older pot sizes I have. Great purchase!

Not enough words, Just Impressed! Looks awesome, we leave the light on just to admire the entire look of the stove. What do I say? Just very cool stove...My wife bought hard word floor so I bought the stove and dishwasher.. just a farm boy here in Idaho so very high tech stove, burners go off when pan leaves the surface, multi cook tops, A potato warmer in the lower drawer. Just goes on and on very very happy.

It's ok, but lacks performance

I purchase this in April along with the other major matching appliances. The range is the item I am least satisfied with. Pro's front right burner heats up fast to boil water and provides high heat and control knobs are heavy and durable. The oven is also very large.Cons...warming draw is useless, size wise (height) and it never even gets Luke warm. If I knew this I would have selected a storage draw instead. All but front right burner are very slow to heat and don't provide high heat even when they are the only burner in use. Oven takes a long time to preheat. Push button controls and timer are difficult to use. Also the oven handle sticks out so far that we can't open the draw that's at a 45 degree angle from the stove without opening the oven.

I LUV this range!

We installed this range, about 2 weeks ago. So far, I love everything about it! Huge oven with 3 shelves, 5 burners on top including a fast 3200 watt and a small warming burner. Has an Easy to clean top. Haven't had time to try the oven yet, but I am sure it is also perfect.

We bought this around Christmas because we wanted to update to stainless steel. Our other was a Maytag too that still worked great-since 2001! Love everything about this one! It's large capacity and three racks is great! It has so many bells and whistles I haven't even used them all yet! Love the warming drawer and the warming burner! Haven't tried it yet, but it has a very easy cleaning feature!

I purchased this range a month ago and it is not only a good looking appliance, but it's quite simple to use. I only had a problem with preheating the oven, setting the cook time, and putting the item in the oven. When the oven door is open, there is some heat loss. The oven then reheats using some of the time set for cooking. The store personnel admitted this is a problem for them also. Otherwise, it is an excellent purchase.

I appreciate how fast the burners are compared to my old range. The oven is huge with a great door viewing area. The high wattage burner boils water much faster than my old range or any gas range! It certainly gives my kitchen an upgraded look!

Great features, good price and Quality

We bought this range on Fri, 14 Nov 2014 and had it delivered the following Tuesday. We are thrilled with the features. Performance is good but auto temp compensation for convection oven results in baked items not being done at time stated in recipes! We paid less than MSRP! Comparing the reviews on other maker's ranges and the Quality we saw when we looked hands on sold us. Ours did however come with a few water?? streaks on the inside of the door glass where we cant get to it without disassebly! Also Maytag could do very much better on the timeliness of their promotional rebate (submitted online on delivery day). It's Christmas day and we're still waiting to receive it.

Maytag forever

I have bought Maytag and other high end appliances and my Maytags are still going, 10 to 20 years includes a dishwasher fridge and washer, this is my first Maytag stove but after replacing the above items with Maytags I will only purchase Maytag products from here on out, I love my stove and have had compliments on the style and the door window that you can actually see inside without opening the door.

Bought this range about two weeks ago and love it so far. It looks amazing in my kitchen and works perfectly. The front left burner seems to take a little longer to boil a pot of water than the other burners, but no big deal to me. No complaints so far!
