Light isn't very bright. Filter looks to be cheap. This was a replacement for one that broke after 10 years of use. Hope this one lasts at least that long.

Product is advertised as being installed in 10 minutes by one person. It would take a much better person than me to do this. Over two hours from start to finish. Nothing against the product, it's misleading info for installation time.

Necessary item for small kitchen

Wonderful change for a small kitchen. Everything is great with one exception: the nut holding the fan spindle rod seems to easily loose and lower the blades that hit the fan cage. I've had to take it apart and retighten it about 3 times so far in 8 months.

This hood is very pretty and simple...not overwhelming large. The light is bright and covers all of the cooking area. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fan. The fan has a high and low, but either one is too loud. You can't carry a conversation with anyone or hear anyone because of this.

They don't make it easy to install

I have installed range hoods before, but this hood didn't have all the appropriate screw holes to install vent attachment. Only 1 screw hole, yet they give you 4 screws to install. I had to metal duct tape to secure to hood. Took 3 hours to install by myself. Now that it's in... looks good and works, but fan is noisy when you turn it on and the off. While on it's ok. Frustrating!!!

Economical and simple

This vent has a clean simple look that has basic features and works really well in a residential kitchen set up. I like the color choices it came in and the price is absolutely great too. Easy set up and install as well for a novice home repair tech or a do it yourselfer.

Buttons Within Reach

The range hood cover which came with this house had the light/fan buttons at the very top which I could not reach. I chose this GE model because the buttons are at the bottom of the unit. It is nicer than the original unit and actually the best range hood cover I've ever had.
